Sustainable Initiatives

According to the study by the Global Footprint Network, from today we live in ecological debt: the resources that the planet makes available in a year are finished.
To counter this phenomenon we need to stop unnecessary consumption and to implement sustainable behaviors in everything we do.

In C.T. POINT we are committed to having a positive impact on the planet, implementing environmental and social sustainability strategies, according to principles aimed at environmental compatibility of processes, attention to the health and safety of workers.
Our concrete commitment translates into joining the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi), for the 50% reduction of our gas emissions by 2030 for Scope 1 and Scope 2 in line with the maintaining of the temperatures below 1.5° C, to achieve the goals set in the Paris Agreement, thus avoiding the worst consequences of global warming.

To do this we have started different changes aimed at achieving our goal.
Starting from the choice of using 100% energy deriving from renewable sources, as well as the increasing use of recycled materials for our threads, and for all our plastic supports.

To this end, we have decided to redesign our products and their packaging, avoiding virgin plastic where possible and using eco-compatible and recycled materials. Our new line of “Platinum EcoGreen” products fits into this perspective, twisted and braided threads in 100% recycled high tenacity polyester, GRS certified.

We have also embarked on a path to replace single-use plastic supports, with recycled plastic from our processing waste, with the aim of creating a closed-loop production model, in which materials can be reused over and over again, through the launch of the initiative “king spool loop towards zero waste”, a way to help our customers to reduce the amount of plastic waste by taking back the king spools used to be recycled by the company and used again as a support for the new yarns to be used … obviously both in recycled high tenacity polyester threads and into the virgin ones.
Through this initiative we will be able to reduce our impact also on Scope 3 from 44% to 77% as shown below:
